I first met prophet Seymour in a tent revival in Ohio. He was playing a Hammond B3 organ. Never in my life had I ever heard such wonderful music emanate from a musical instrument! His fingers glided over the ivory keys like lightning and anointing seemed to pour from the leslie speakers. One moment soft, flowing chords soothed my soul and touched my spirit. The next moment the leslie vibrated as a wailing note brought us up from our seats in praise. Momentum built as the music worked into a Holy Ghost frenzy. The whole congregation exploded in worship, shouting, dancing, and praise!
The first time I heard him preach I knew this was no ordinary preacher. There were no sugar coated words and feel good phrases in his message. It was straight and from the hip. He minced no words and in no uncertain terms he let you know that nothing but the blood could save you. He brought forth a hell fire and brimstone message so hot you could smell the sulfur and feel the heat.
Moving in the gifts of the Spirit his prophetic word is always very accurate and stirring. His ministry is one of the very few of the old time tent evangelistic ministries. His ministry is is aligned with those from days of yore such as A.A. Allan, William Branham, H. Richard Hall, Katheryn Kulman, Jack Coe and others.
We need more of the old fashioned ministries such as this to bring God’s people together. Prophets seem to be a thing of the past, however, God has always used the office of a prophet to bring life and revival to the body.
An army must have a supply line. An electronic devise must have a power supply. Every city must have a water supply. Likewise, the church of Jesus Christ requires a a supply of the Spirit from the prophets.
We also need to individually give of our own personal supply. People of the modern church world see the church as some kind of a spiritual restaurant. They have a consumer mentality. They come in on Sunday morning to “get fed” and built up for the next week. When it’s time for the altar call or to pray for the sick, they slip out the back door and go home. But God’s Word says that there is a supply of the Spirit in every believer that needs to be released. When you come to church, don’t just take . . . but also give. Give a supply of the Spirit!
Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit . . .” (John 7:38-39).
The old time revivals and the old time preachers are almost a thing of the past. They are being replaced by feel good preachers telling you that anything goes and everyone is OK just the way they are. Thank God for ministries like prophet Joe Seymour ministries that still cry loud and spare not!!!
Jesus is about to return. This is not time to play church. We need old fashion revival. Preach it Joe! Let the anointing fall. Let the people know that when they come to your meetings that the wind is blowing again . . . and all things are possible.
